Share
information to avoid duplication and plan future programs:
Please let us know where you have dewormed in the past ONE
YEAR, and where you plan to work in the future! We want to know
more about who is carrying out deworming programs where for two
important reasons.
- Avoid
duplication. We are
working to compile information on existing treatments so that when
someone is thinking about starting a deworming program, they can check
first to see if deworming is already being carried out in their
area. That way kids won’t get treated more than they need to, and
resources won’t be wasted on redundant treatments. We have a
preliminary database of deworming projects here, and we want to keep it
as complete and up to date as possible.
- Map
coverage to target areas of highest need: We want to use
information on where organizations are deworming so that we know the
areas that are not being covered, and we can help governments and other
institutions target those areas that need it the most.
If
your organization is carrying out treatments with albendazole,
mebendazole and/or praziquantel we want to hear from you! We have
created a web-based reporting form to make
this as easy as possible. We will share the information that you
provide with the WHO and others.
Link up with
others working in your area:
Deworm the World brings organizations working on deworming in
the same area together. By working together you may be able to
streamline training, drug purchases, and ensure that deworming in your
area moves towards a comprehensive and coordinated initiative that
reaches the maximum number of children possible.
Want to expand
an existing school-based deworming program?
If you are an organization that is working in schools, and
carrying out a deworming project in some of them, and would like to
expand your deworming program into all your schools, please see our implementation page and follow the
steps to find out if this expansion is appropriate and if Deworm the
World can link you up with support for your expansion.
