| Step 6: Monitoring It is important to monitor program activities regularly to insure implementation is on track and meets the desired coverage. Deworm the World will provide kits describing the steps required to monitor your program on this site in the near future. Monitoring is done by keeping records of, for example, the number of participating schools, the number of teachers trained, the number and type of health education activities carried out, the quantity of drugs distributed to schools, and the number of children administered tablets. Keeping track of how many school-age children you treat from each age group is important because it will help you keep track of how many tablets to order for future deworming days, because demonstrating that you can effectively bring treatment to pupils will help you secure funding in the future, and because reporting this information through our website or to the WHO will help ensure that organizations are maximizing their resources by avoiding duplication. Click here for more information on which indicators to collect. |
